City eyes sites for river markets on east and west
A city committee of councilmen Dewey Merriau and Recht fertig discussed locating permanent markets on city owned property by the river. The east side market would likely be near the water works office at Sycamore and Third streets, while the west side market may be at Seventh and Bluff streets. A Dec 20 council meeting will hear a resolution urging these locations. Also, Mystic Workers held an election at Labor temple naming Harry Pierce as Past prefect and R. J. Belt as Prefect.
