Iowa teachers seek pension plan via new association
Des Moines reports a new riders' association forms to push a teacher annuity bill for the next legislature. Charles Pye says $15,000 will fund actuary work to study pension systems in other cities and craft a practical proposal, beginning with a $3,500 seed from Sioux City teachers. The plan envisions an annual payment to fund pensions for teachers.
