In a brief tale Mr. Dog bandages the careworn Billy Pig after a mishap with Tilly Pig and Billy Goat. Mr. Dog praises the curled tail as handsome yet Billy Pig protests the pain and longs for a straighter look, reflecting a childlike moral about appearance and care.
Col Hepburn in the Washington Post predicts the Republican party will elect the next president. He denies switching to Democrat over Maurice Connell y for Iowa senate and backs Myron T Herrick of Ohio as the remaining viable Republican candidate. Mr. and Mrs. J Russell celebrated their sixtieth wedding anniversary at home in Fredericksburg on November 23. Mrs J X Bishop and her children from Rowley visited her parents Mr and Mrs J S Bartley at 219 Clay Street. They returned home last evening. Mrs Bishop came to bid farewell to her sister Miss Edna Bartley who leaves tonight for St Anthony Idaho to become matron of the Idaho State Industrial School for Girls. Miss Bartley spent the summer at Belly Plain as a nurse. She returned last Thursday for a brief visit before heading west.
