Thirty plumbers from the Midwest, members of the Master Plumbers Association, were fined in federal court by Judge W. H. Pollock. Fines ranged from 150 to 25 dollars plus costs, with four actions appealed to the circuit court. One defendant died. most others attended with spouses. The court held no criminal intent, citing the aim to regulate the trade.

Algona Iowa shows its drive for better roads by a two day graveling effort. Over 600 loads of gravel filled a mile of road as 60 teams and 100 business people contributed to the project. Appendix of Boy Found Filled With Seven Pellets
In Council Bluffs on Thanksgiving day Bryan Winkler an 18 year old boy had his appendix removed at Mercy hospital. The surgeon declared the appendix a prize specimen and found seven leaden pellets inside. The Winkler family is known for farming on Pony Creek and reports Bryan had a habit of rabbit meals which may have carried the shot. He became violently ill Wednesday afternoon and was rushed to the hospital Thursday morning.
