September Forecast From Leavitt & Johnson Bank
The September forecast from Leavitt and Johnson National Bank reports optimism about trade conditions and a general easing in the money market. It notes factors such as strikes reducing mineral output, banks enlarging cash reserves, and a $50 million Treasury deposit next week to aid grain movement, offset by a drop in government deposits. Bank clearings in July rose to about 13.5 billion nationwide with outside New York at 6.191 billion, suggesting money scarcity has not halted activity as crops face drought and cotton conditions in the southwest decline.
