William Eisentrager 37 a farmer ten miles north of Ackley Iowa killed himself with a shotgun in his granary after writing a farewell note for his wife and parents. He had been ill and brooding six weeks and left instructions in the note that Ku Klux Klan members conduct the funeral rites. Funeral set for Saturday with Rev. Miller Bristow officiating. Des Moines reports a three quarter size statue in butter of President Coolidge created by EH Wallace of Lincoln Nebraska. The statue is kept frozen by a refrigerating plant beside an inscription keep cool with Coolidge. About 1134 pounds of butter were used for the sculpture.
Walte Phillips former Knoxville Boy, sells his interests in the Walte Phillips company Tulsa and will retire from business. He owns most of the stock and the price is around 26 million dollars. Blair & Co. New York sold the stock to Standard Oil company of Indiana.
Goaterville Te August 27 Unless it pays back taxes totaling 69 by September 16 the sheriff will sell at public auction all phones lines poles switchboard and appliances belonging to Appanoose County Mutual Telephone Company. Taxes have accrued since 1909 and the Mutual is largely owned by farmers.
