Baseball Roundup Names Laudermilk and Love in Box Scores

Yesterday’s Chicago and Brooklyn game lists Laudermilk as Cubs pitcher, possibly the prior Spring field club star. Pittsburgh won and lost a doubleheader with Boston as Wilson of the Pirates fueled both games with five hits in eight at bats. The Three-I league sees Springfield atop the ragged pack, Davenport holding second, and Bloomington and Peoria fighting the bottom. Central association race remains dull but hints Ned Egan and a chunk of players from Tumwa may win the sectors. Muscatine chases a defeat-record pace, weather permitting. A major league trainer criticizes players’ habits with one star rumored to eat pie for breakfast. The New York Highlanders sign 17-year-old George Love from Ridgefield Park, New Jersey.
