University of Iowa to Train Soldiers in Electrical and Mechanical Work
Iowa City Aug 26 The University of Iowa announces a three month training program for soldiers in electrical engineering, mechanics, radio operation and related trades. Two hundred electrical technicians will arrive in Sept and Oct, with 300 kept on campus through monthly rotations. 460 more soldiers join later, totaling about 500. Training shifts include auto mechanics, pipe filling and radio operation, housed in Close Hall and campus facilities.
