Society notes reflect women’s auxiliary at Legion convention
Entertainment for women visitors at the American Legion convention centered on the auxiliary activities at Memorial hall on September 7. Mrs. C W Chapman and Mrs. WLBL Maynard organized a musical program at Sunnyside Country Club for the afternoon, with dancing in the evening and an automobile ride planned. The welfare division reported aid to hospitalized disabled veterans and families, plus donations to playgrounds, free milk funds, and clothing drives. Preparations for a pageant by Catholic Girls clubs continue, with various dance roles assigned to local young women. A bridal shower and multiple social events honored Miss Eva Mackin and Miss Florence LaTier, while Sunnyside Club hosted a dinner dance that evening.
