Oelwein Victorious In Busy Inning Onslaught
In a drawn out game Gordon pitched well until a fourth inning error spree by the Vinton infield allowed Gelwein to falter. Singles and walks fueled a wild scoring stretch, six runs in the fourth and six more in the fifth, as Vindner held his mound role with nine hits allowed. Oelwein’s win keeps them two games ahead in the past week, following a 5 to 1 victory over Independence at Buchanan county fair a day earlier, while late week results saw Delwaine drop to Decorah and others.
