Sunday School Lesson on Manna and Murmuring
A Sunday school text by Rev. D. M. Stearns analyzes Israel’s murmuring at Marah and in the wilderness, tying it to temptations and God’s provisions. It cites manna from heaven, the tree that sweetened waters, and the faithful care of God, urging meditation on divine healing. It connects these events to Jesus as the living bread and to the banner of Jehovah.

Well Known Cattle Breeder in City
Co. A. Nelson, a noted lec turer and dairy cattle breeder from Waverly, was in the city yesterday with his wife. They had just returned from Pennsylvania where they attended the funeral of their son-in law, Dr. Walter H. Sir Henry, formerly a government veterinary inspector. His death was caused by human tuberculosis, not bovine tuberculosis as reported. He fought tuberculosis in dairy herds for years, but his health was not sustained by exposure to tubercular vaccine. He was frail from youth. Dr. McHenry was once a friend of John Wanamaker, the Philadelphia magnate, whom he met after a severe accident sent the latter to a hospital. The friendship remained, and Dr. McHenry’s parents are longtime Keystone State residents.
