Plea of Guilty in Foggy Trial Ends Case
The trial of Grover Foggy a strike picket ended abruptly when defense counsel withdrew a not guilty plea and entered a guilty plea. The judge reserved sentence until Saturday August 23 at 10 a.m. The prosecution tied Foggy to assaults on Chaplin and Neitheisel on a bridge and a street car incident earlier that day. Witnesses from Waterloo Gasoline Engine Company testified to a violent attack as Foggy was identified. Several co-defendants may also change pleas at subsequent arraignments.
