City Lays Out 1912 Lighting Costs at Light the City Majestic

Mayor R C Thompson warned council to curb new lights to avoid a 2000 dollar overdraft this year. It costs 25000 dollars annually to light Waterloo streets, funded mainly by residents while business properties partly share the burden. The water sewer and gas committee will curb nonessential lighting and offset requests for new lights. The adjourned session also set paving projects on Western avenue First street west and Commercial street, and referred sidewalk petitions.
