Economist Says Tax System Not Fair to Farmers
Richmond Va Aug 14 A government economist Ene Englund told an agricultural meeting that farm land taxes rose sharply from 1914 to 1927, making taxes a fixed charge on land and hard to shift. She warned high taxes depress land values and urged reform to distribute the tax burden more fairly across urban and rural areas.
