Buiker Plans Return to Law Post After Railroad Term

John A. Audber of Winterset plans to resume law practice at Winterset after his railroad commissioner term ends January 1. He is floated as a possible successor to the Iowa Supreme Court bench after Justice Gaynor’s death, with five judges named as eligibles. Governor Harding may appoint a nominee in consultation with Republican leaders. Major T. P. Hollowell departs to become Fort Madison prison warden, while Mrs. Emma K. Blaise takes over as governor’s secretary with others handling chief clerk duties.

Health Seals to Be Sold in Iowa at Christmas Time

Iowa to sell twenty five million Christmas health seals to fund child welfare social service and tuberculosis work under the Iowa Tuberculosis association. T J Edmonds will oversee the sale with rural welfare groups benefiting from proceeds while the Red Cross steps back this year.

Iowa Woman Mother of Six Physicians Dies

Dr. Thomas Byrnes of Atlantic travels to Davenport for the double funeral of his mother Mrs. Jennie Byrnes and her son-in-law Dr. E T Kegel of Gainesville Florida who died within 12 hours of each other. Mrs Byrnes left behind four sons and two sons-in-law in medicine including Dr. Thomas of Atlantic Drs Victor and Rutcoe of Asrant Dr Ralph of Los Angeles and Dr Walter Biering of Des Moines. Bodies to be shipped to Davenport for interment at Walcott.
