Iowa apple crop outlook favors Ames growers in 191?
Iowa foresees about one million bushels of apples this year with strong quality from sprayed orchards. Local markets will absorb much of the better fruit, while overseas and western production trends suggest a mixed national picture. Ames horticulturists note high quality should bring good prices, aided by New York grade laws and cautious export prospects amid war disruptions.
