Sorry Now She Killed Boy but Death Not Hastened
It may have been jealousy or a deeper motive that led Maria Maharies to throw her husband’s small son into the river. In an hour long interview she shows limited adult insight and admits four months of low mood before the act. She describes a troubled life on Commercial Street and Fourteenth Street, mental strain, and futile attempts to seek help, while denying motherhood and expressing mixed remorse.
