Des Moines August 12. June Mabel Rogers a 16 year old country girl from De Soto Ta ahora confined in the police station ward has told affidavits about a revolting trafficking in souls scheme. She sought money for a sick mother and large family and took a maid position with an elderly Fort Des Moines couple. A well dressed woman Mrs Brackett lured her with candy gifts and higher pay then coerced her into harsher work.
