State Izaak Walton league parley in Mason City
The annual state convention of the Izaak Walton league will be held in Mason City in October with dates to be announced. National officers and several speakers on wildlife conservation will attend. Executive committee members surveyed 22 acres of bass and pike rearing ponds between Mason City and Clear Lake, with drainage, walls, and 14 inch water mains approved. A second propagation project north of Mason City was also visited for a natural bass hatchery. The Iowa Izaak Walton league aims to clean streams and promote hatcheries and rearing ponds to boost fish stocking.
