Cattle in Remer Cows Top Bremer County Test
Waverly I a Aug 9 a purebred Holstein cow owned by B Loveland Janesville led Bremer county cow test with 37.9 pounds butterfat and 7146 pounds milk since April 1. July tests ranked Black owned by Carl Kuethe highest last month with 2065 pounds milk and 10.2 pounds butterfat. Eleven cows averaged 994 pounds milk and 35.4 butterfat for the herd led by S B Whitney. the report notes the need for continued butterfat testing to identify top cows and breeders. County agent comment supports dairy-breed superiority through individual performance. The Loveland herd averaged 874 pounds milk and 6.3 butterfat in July. Other top herds include Wrams Going Strong and M W George with multiple cows in high standings. The test suggests potential for another Bremer county test season with farmer interest rising.
