Wisconsin Purchases Lead Iowa In Dairy Cattle Trades
Iowa dairy survey shows 25 counties spent 290700 outside state on dairy cattle last year. Wisconsin reports Iowa as second largest purchaser from the state, with 30000 head sold elsewhere and up to a quarter of a million dollars Iowa money spent in Wisconsin for dairy cattle. Officials warn Iowa could have expanded in-state dairy farming and cut outflow of cattle to Wisconsin. Dairy cattle congresses and national dairy show plans, with grade cow entries and educational features, aim to boost domestic production and demonstrations.
