Mrs. Harry Grant is critically injured after a car collision when steering failed and the vehicle struck a telephone post. Her husband was thrown through the windshield but spared serious injury. Doctors in Independence say her jugular was severed but youth gives some hope. relatives travel to her bedside in Clear Lake.
Mrs J H Macumber of 225 Leon Yard Avenue received word from Moose Lake Minnesota that her son Harry McArthur formerly with Waterloo Gasoline Engine Company suffered serious injuries after falling forty feet to the bottom of a gravel pit.
The man sustained serious injuries including a broken left leg above and below the knee, a broken hip in three places, two fractured ribs, and a broken shoulder blade. Mrs. M. Rathbone, his sister, departed Castle Hill for Duluth, Minnesota, to be with him at the hospital.
