Waterloo tourist park thrives under pay system during summer
After three weeks under the pay system at the Waterloo Chautauqua tourist park, officials report stable attendance and a higher quality influx. 72 cars were parked over a recent Sunday to Tuesday period, with visitors arriving from across North America. A 50 cent nightly charge was approved by the city, including gas, cookhouse use, grounds patrol, drilled water, electric lighting, and sanitation. Local inspector Roy Stacy praised the park, and visitors from Calgary and Toronto shared positive impressions, noting Waterloo’s attractive accommodations and friendly Iowans. The Sac City report highlights high health exam scores among county girls in Four Helub contests, including a top score of 99.
