A published free list of proverbial maxims from the Waterloo Evening Courier announces it will be discontinued after tomorrow. The card includes many adages on work, wealth, time, discipline, manners, and charity, urging readers to read and reflect as a guide for the year.
The Courier invites readers to mail in solutions for a daily Ben Franklin pictograph puzzle. A judging panel may award 250 dollars to the best set. The first seven pictographs and a sayings list are printed, with entry details, freebies, and a guide list available on request.
