California Eggs Have Nothing on Iowa Product Demonstration
California eggs have nothing on Iowa as the farm bureau and extension service stage a cooperative grading and marketing demo. Next Tuesday at A C Willford’s store in Ames the second lot will be packed for Chicago, after last week's shipment passed inspection for first class quality. Local inspectors noted cleanliness and size, with white spruce pads between egg rows. A poultryman from Ames will assist next week as plans grow to have eggs graded at home for shipment. The goal is to show farmers they can earn better prices by sorting and marketing real quality eggs rather than mixing firsts with lowers. The effort emphasizes uniformity and honest pricing over any big marketing scheme.
