Evolution Held Notional 10 Christian Gruse Debate

Sir Bertram Windle of the University of Toronto argued against pure Darwinian selection, favoring Mendelian ideas and divine creation. He stressed intelligence behind genetic packing, noted Revelations and creation stories, and urged that Christianity and science can coexist while outlining limits of evolutionary claims. Archbishop Keane defended Christianity and welcomed inquiry into evolution as compatible with faith. The event opened with Dr. Windle’s remarks and concluded with the Sacred Heart choir and a United States anthem.
