Cities May Levy Tax To Maintain Landing Fields
Des Moines report notes a new state law authorizes cities and towns to acquire and operate airports with optional special taxes. Tax limits vary by population from five mills to one mill, subject to elector approval. Cities may issue bonds for up to 20 years and must file plans with the state railroad commissioners.
