Hog Chute Found On Manley Farm In Cedar Falls
Waterloo police arrest Jake Manley alias James Miller an hour after he sold seven stolen hogs to Thatch Packing Company. Detectives found a portable hog chute and homemade chicken catcher at Manley’s 10 acre farm four miles above Cedar Falls. Over 200 chickens and five hogs, including a 425 pound hog, were recovered. Dozens of stockmen arrived to assess thefts totaling more than 150 head across several counties. Manley, a known Tama County figure, has prior larceny charges and moonshine ties, and faces ongoing investigations into a wide stock theft ring.
