Sunday School Lesson on Joash and Temple Reform
The lesson surveys Joash of Judah, his early reform under the Lord’s guidance, and the later failure to purge idolatry. It contrasts Joash with Jehoash of Israel, recounts Athaliah’s reign and the temple repair effort funded by voluntary offerings, notes the priest Jehoiada’s role, and highlights the prophetic warning and eventual decline in obedience reflected in Chronicles references.
