Congress to Present Emmet Statue to Ireland

Washington April 21 a bronze statue of Robert Emmet will be presented by Congress to the people of Ireland as a testimonial of U S friendship for the Irish race. Senator Walsh and Representative Porter plan resolutions and the ceremony is set for mid summer with many Americans invited. The statue replicates Emmet’s dock speech and will be placed at the National Academy in Dublin.

Dodge business block sold for debt in public sale

Fort Dodge Iowa April 21 The bankrupt firm Hanson Tyler buildings were sold at public auction to A M Schanke Mason City for 93000. Schanke holds the 64000 mortgage against the property, which includes a three story brick building 89 by 120 on Seventh street and First Avenue North and a one story brick annex 60 by 120 next to it.
