Need Not 60 Out of Class 1 to Get Army

Washington April 20 Under the classification of men for selective draft service Provost Marshal Gen Crowder advised the senate military committee that about 2,208,088 will be in Class 1 from which all future calls will be made. This 2,000,000 excludes 560,000 to 1,000,000 more annually who will be subject to military duty under the bill in Congress. From 2,050,000 men in Class I it is unlikely calls will exceed the highest class. About 50 percent of youths reaching 21 under the new law may be placed in Class 1.
