Zaniboni Reveals Hatred for Fascist Chief Mussolini
Rome April 12 Fascist leader Mussolini faced sharp attacks as Tito Zaniboni testified at a trial for plotting to kill the premier. Zaniboni proclaimed “I hate Fascism” from a guarded prison cage and admitted a desire to overthrow the dictatorship by military means. He said he would have used 200 armed men to attack Fascist messes during a 1925 celebration if his plot succeeded. General Luigi Cappello and six others also face trial before a special military tribunal. The case, tied to threats aimed at Mussolini from a hotel room opposite the Chigi Palace, is expected to last about a week.
