Gasoline tax eyed to raise 50 000 per county
Des Moines April It is possible that a gasoline tax law will be enacted during the special session of the Iowa legislature to yield about 50 000 per county for improving primary county and township roads. A two cent per gallon wholesaler tax proposal would total around 5 000 000 nationwide and distribute via the state treasury with one third to county roads and the rest split between county and township roads. Governor Rendall’s stance unclear but sentiment favors passage. Deer in Wayne County report eight deer with descendants present near Derby and Bridgeport.
