Violet Mardis aged 66 of 902 Mobile Street Waterloo died at 3 10 a m Wednesday after two weeks illness and a Tuesday transfer to the local hospital. She was born March 31 1855 in North Carolina, daughter of Thomas and Mary Stott and married Isaac Mardis, with ten children born to the union, six surviving. Her husband died 29 years ago. She was a member of African Methodist Episcopal Church. Surviving children are Mrs James Beasley Mrs Sam Montijoy Mrs J I Mills Miss Jessie Mardis and Scott J Mardis of Waterloo and Mrs Pearl Potter Isabel. Also two sons-in-law and several grandchildren. Interment details not disclosed.
