Circus Cat Claws Woman in Bright Hat at Gringer

Des Moines visitor Mrs Albert C Maiah was clawed on shoulder and back by a jaguar during a circus at Gringer winter quarters. Grandfather rescues girl from drowning at pool

Clifford and Apelin of 1104 Hawthorne Ave Strobubby saved three year old Ruth Sigman from drowning near Ninth and Byron streets on Sunday. A neighbor boy allegedly pushed her into the water. Ruth was pulled from the pool by Mr Stapelle, unconscious, and later revived by a physician. She rests, fretful, with arm pain. parents live in Dubuque.

Chapman Has Two Chances to Escape Death on Gallows

Hartford April reports that Gerald Chapman the mall bandit and convicted murderer faces a June 25 execution date but still has possible paths to life. A Connecticut appeals ruling may grant a new trial, and federal authorities could commute him by enforcing the unused portion of his Atlanta federal sentence before hanging. Youth and Girl Arrested in Clinton Liquor Seizure

Clinton police seized eighty gallons of intoxicants alleged to be from a Chicago market bound for Clinton retailers. Samuel Nosanov, 23, of 4853 West Adams Street, Chicago, and Florence Rosenthal, 75, a nurse in training, were arrested for allegedly transporting the liquor into town. Modern Haroun Al Rasehid, styled Emir of Kurdestan, arrives in New York aboard the Celtic after being deported by the United States to Britain and denied entry there. Two Badly Hurt as Truck Turns Turtle Near Logan
