House Haste Delays Iowa Budget Action
Des Moines April 4 In an effort to save time on the budget bill the house adjourned at noon after a parliamentary tangle. Two hours were spent on points of order and rulings over amendments by Ontjes and Rutledge. The building program items include 500000 for a dairy building at Iowa State Ames 450000 for a library at Iowa University Iowa City and 250000 for a grandstand and educational building at the state fairgrounds. The bill as amended by the senate would raise the tax levy by more than a mill.
