Iowa Limits on Waterpower Sites Adopted in Des Moines
Des Moines reports the town house approved a waterpower dam site bill with senate amendments. The law places control of dam permits with the state executive council, charges $100 permit fees, and requires health inspections. Dams must be developed within a year or permits are forfeited, with $25 annual inspections and protections for landowners against overflow.
