Iowa House Work On Money Bill And Highway Bills
The Iowa House focused on road and money issues while the Senate pushed highway matters. The Bergman bill passed both chambers, and the lower house’s gasoline tax rider was eliminated. The budget bill underwent section-by-section cuts, with hopes for late votes to speed conferees. The Legislature also addressed driver licensing, increased speed limits, and the Benson-Rigby taxation reform. Senate allowances were trimmed by about 24,640 dollars in the administration appropriation, and the providential contingent fund was lowered from 50,000 to 30,000 dollars.
