Christ not dead only unconscious say Universalist minister
Rev Conard B Rheiner of the Universalist church argues in an Easter sermon that Jesus did not truly die and that his tomb held an unconscious body. He cites burial delays and cloths saturated with resins, suggesting Jesus revived in the garden tomb and later influenced his followers. Pastor Warren L Steeves of Walnut Street Baptist counters that Christ was dead and lives for evermore. A. B P Blough of the Church of the Brethren leaves for Elgin Illinois to attend a general mission board meeting.

Pyle’s coast to coast race draws a loyal backing
Frank Getty profiles Charles Pyle the cross country promoter with a track record of losses and big dreams. More than 100 runners join the second annual quest from east to west as chambers of commerce underwrite costs and a $300 entry fee is charged. A vaudeville show backs the trek, which spans months and tests endurance. Pyle, stubborn and visionary, courts offers while pursuing the prize.

Marathon of One Becomes a Hero in Beacon Street Tale
A Cambridge Boston story recounts Ernest Harris staging a fake 25 mile race to impress his Beacon Street sweetheart. He advertised a grand Marathon with one runner and drew reporters, a traffic cop, and a Lambda Chi Alpha friend as accomplice. The ruse unraveled when photographers and bystanders noticed the lack of other runners and Harris had to explain his lone feat.
