Waterbury held an ALL BUY TAGS event that opened early and ran smoothly. The 150 000 tags were exhausted before noon, prompting the committee to restock rapidly. Health Officer Kilmartin reportedly presented a card to Town Clerk Brett late last night and received a ten dollar bill in exchange for the cardboard token.
In Waterbury the tagging campaign for charity brought out crowds, with many workers encircling streets, halls, and courts. Dozens of girls decked in tags persuaded people to contribute, while police guarded against abuses as money poured into collection boxes totaling hundreds by mid afternoon.

John B. Dunlop a prominent Meriden Democrat aged seventy died at the hospital today from an apoplexy. He is survived by three daughters and one son.
