Fx Taft died in San Diego last evening. Alphonso Taft, born November 5, 1810 in Vermont, trained at Yale and served as a lawyer in Cincinnati. He held roles including member of the Cincinnati Board of Education for 25 years and trustee of the University of Cincinnati, later Secretary of War in 1876, amid a noted political career. burial will be in Cincinnati.
