In consequence of a long cool spring woolen dress fabrics are in great demand. Our dress goods department offers a great variety of fabrics with no line of goods matching it. We have decided to hold a special sale for the coming four days starting Tuesday.

Spiced Catsup 1 quart for 9¢, Best Plying 1 quart 6¢. Coffee 1 lb paper 8¢, Whole Wheat Flour 1 lb 19¢. New Crop Smoked Bloaters 10¢ per dozen. Highland Blend Meet and Java Coffee 8¢ per pound. 1,000 Ibs New Crop Mixed Tea 47¢ per pound. No presents.
In city court before Judge Burpee the non-support case against Thomas Lyman was continued to tomorrow morning with a potential settlement. John Couw, from Thomaston, pleaded guilty to drunkenness and was fined five dollars and costs after a prior jail term evasion. Robert Hayes and Bermacd Swelly of East Main street were arrested for assault and robbery of Chirley Wing, a Chinese launderer, with details briefly noted. James E. Russell represents the accused and Kennedy of Nangatuck aids in prosecution. Bonds set at one thousand dollars, and the case continues with penalties possibly involving state prison terms.

The Electric Express company will begin operations tomorrow after completing details. C M Cole originated a route between New Haven and Woodmont. An eccentric resident known as Was Churchill died in a Mor fire incident after trying to save his burning house. William M Hall, former Winsted employee, was arrested for bigamy for marriages in February 1899 and December of the same year to two women. he had been staying at his sister’s Oak Street home in Winsted.
Senator John M Douglas of Middletown suffered a brain artery rupture causing total right side paralysis. He fell unconscious at his Guilford home after returning from fishing plans and remains confined to bed. A former representative and state senator, he served in 1864 5 and 1871 and held several national party roles.
Brooklyn notes report an aid society meeting at 7 30 oclock at St Anthony's. A large class will receive confirmation at St Patrick's Church later this month. The Monitor Athletic club beat Brooklyn Athletics 16 to 6 in yesterday's baseball game.
