The Hemlock Lake train on the Lehigh Valley line derailed at Honeoye Falls. Engineer William Gaffney of Rochester was instantly killed while fireman Edward Brusky of Honeoye Falls lay beneath the engine, presumed dead. The cause remains undetermined as the engine left the rails and overturned.
John F. Wallace, former Panama canal chief engineer, spoke at the American Railway Engineering and Maintenance of Way association banquet in Chicago on March 22. Newark March 22 Giuseppe Marmo an Italian was hanged for the murder of his brother in law Nunzio Marinana after battling for years to escape execution.
