The Derby based Howe Manufacturing Company may move its box making plant to Waterbury or continue operations here urging implications for fifty Derby workers. The Derby outfit reportedly outputs 465 pins a minute, nearly double the 250 pins a minute from the Howe plant in Derby, highlighting the plant's productivity. In another note, Edward McManus reports his prized colt Tillie has died after briefly escaping his barn and injuring itself on lower South Main street. The horse, valued at an amount not disclosed, died about 5 AM after veterinarian efforts failed.
