Granby July 5. Sheriff Griffin and Deputy Dibbell spent the day at the scene of the alleged murder and attempted death by own action with no new developments. Anise Holcomb, who has regained consciousness, insists Joseph Bolie shot her and then killed himself. Bolie was found dead yesterday after the alarm. The woman may be kept under observation and arrested if she recovers. Corner Tainter will hold an autopsy today.

Batter burned proprietor of Lynn bowling alley dies

Lynn Mass July 5 Walter Wiley owner of a Lynn bowling alley on Bass Point road was burned to death in his building after eight nearby structures and several sheds burned. The total loss runs about 10000 with partial insurance. A midnight firecracker set off behind the alley is suspected to have started the blaze. Wiley was seen at the start but his charred body was later found among the ruins.

July 5 in South Norwalk Conn. Percy Canfield 17 of 534 State street New Haven died at Norwalk hospital from injuries after attempting to board a Newark New Haven and Hartford freight train a mile below South Norwalk. One leg was severed at knee and the other at ankle.

Blazing Oil Mills Burn in Massive Bayonne Fire

A fire at Standard Oil works at Constable Hook Bayonne N J started early morning and by 9 a m while many tanks exploded the blaze spread toward the bay endangering nearby docks and hotels. One electrician died and several injured as fire crews used trenches to contain burning oil and save nearby plants and ships. By 10:30 a m thirty tanks were ruined and losses topped 2 5 million with many workers missing or burned. The stock market showed a dip as Standard Oil shares fluctuated amid the disaster.
