Reports from Indianapolis Louisville and Newmarket note temperature drops and a missing man linked to the Fair estate dispute.
In St Louis on December 26 Albert Chamliss a hostage was fatally shot by a Black man named Alington during a fight among African Americans. Patrolman Dolan was wounded but the suspect was later arrested after a heavy exchange of gunfire. In Eureka Utah the same night a dance riot among Finnish immigrants left one dead two fatally wounded a woman beaten and several jailed.

Peter McCabe a prominent Waterbury teamster died Thursday night at Waterbury hospital after a stroke in October 1902.
