Frederick J. Willets of Scovill Manufacturing Co vanished last Thursday after boarding the 7:26 car leaving his wife and three children at the Murville homestead on East Main opposite Silver Street. Rose Smith, a 19 year old former neighbor and intimate family friend, also disappeared about the same time. No word on their whereabouts or whether they left together. Willets, age 40 to 50, had his week's pay with him. Mrs Willets reports no contact since Thursday morning. Smith previously lived at 782 East Main and boarded on South Main.
