Deadly dynamite plot scars New York banker mansion

A maniac named D. H. Wilson detonated a dynamite bomb at the Arcade building in Broadway striking Russell Sage and neighboring offices. Four rooms wrecked, windows shattered, walls torn, and several injured. Sage survived. Wilson killed and another victim Benjamin Franklin Nortos, 19, reported among the dead. Several injured including Frank Robertson and Osbourne. Sage’s reception of a visitor from Rockefeller adds to the case’s sensational confusion.

Deadly Wall Collapse at Shepard Building Traps Workers

In St Paul Minnesota on December 5 a center wall in the Shepard building housing Farwell Ozman Kirk collapsed burying workers. The disaster left several dead and many injured with gruesome injuries described. Investigators blamed weakened fire damage and debris removal for the fatal failure.

Dom Pedro Dead End of Exile Ends His Long Story

Dom Pedro ex Emperor of Brazil died aged about 60 in Lisbon after a long illness largely worsened by exile. Princess Isabella at his bedside mourns deeply. He became emperor at five, helped abolish slavery, aided Argentina against Rosas, and faced deposition amid republican currents. Brazil granted him a pension. his death ends any chance of restoration.

Being Run Over Damages Settled in Boston Case

A son of William H Smith, messenger at the State Library, was run over by a West Hol street Rusway Company car and seriously injured. In Superior Court the plaintiff won $17,000, an appeal followed, and the company settled by paying $10,000.

George L Cady, 60, arrested on charges of attempted sexual assault on several girls aged 7 to 13 in Barre Vermont, denies the accusations. He has a wife and three children and is a member of the Congregational Church. The report notes the alleged number thirteen.

Towboat Tragedy Upsets Hudson Barges in Tornado
