A vintage advertisement by Jesse F Robbins, owner of Boone Furniture Co, offers sale of stock including dressers bureaus chairs bed frames and mattresses at reasonable prices. The note invites calls for purchases and mentions Watauga County Bank Building as location.
In a countywide notice H Hayes states completion of study and diploma and readiness to practice veterinary surgery in all branches. He lists Vilas North Carolina as contact point with address and directs calls to his farm or post office. Document dated 6 17 1911 and includes additional line about best material used 4 18 1911.
Dr JY Joyner state superintendent toured Ashe and Watauga counties praising natural resources and educational gains. He noted new schoolhouses, increased rural schools and a rising demand for education aided by Appalachian Training School in Boone and Jefferson Fair progress. He highlighted agricultural exhibits, fruit and vegetable displays, and a push to fund real libraries in Ashe while commending local leaders and teachers.
Mrs. W. W. Goulu of Pittsfield New Hampshire credits Electric Bitters with curing long standing stomach and kidney trouble after other medicines failed. She urges others, especially women, to try this remedy, claiming it improves health and benefits the liver and kidneys. Available at all druggists.
