Slight Earthquake Shakes Appalachian Region Saturday Night
The southern tip of the Appalachian mountains felt two slight shocks at 11 and 11 05 p m Saturday night with Asheville reporting the heaviest tremors. Watauga county and the Piedmont area felt effects, but no damage was reported and telephone service was interrupted in isolated cases. Residents in Chattanooga fled as tremors were felt there.
